On the evening of Saturday 10 October 2026, during a trip to Portugal, the site operator browsed the drinks aisle of the supermarket on basement level 1 of the El Corte Inglés department store in Lisbon. This article collects the photos and price labels from that visit.
The wine range was so large that it could not all fit into photos. Instead, this covers the beer range, which is far wider than at a typical Korean hypermarket, along with the whisky and part of the wine shelves.
Prices are the euro (€) amounts on the shelf labels that day, and supermarket prices change often. Where a label was too small or blurry to match to a product with certainty, it was left out, and no currency conversion is given. Prices seen the next day at Lisbon Airport departures duty free are covered separately in Lisbon Airport Duty Free Whisky and Port Wine Prices.
At a glance
- Beer: Belgian, German and Portuguese beers fill long shelves, with a country flag on each price label. The range is far wider than at a Korean hypermarket.
- Whisky: Scotch single malts and blends sit alongside bourbon, Irish and Japanese whisky in one cabinet.
- Wine: wine takes up a large part of the shop. The photos only show a dedicated stand for Quinta da Pacheca, a Douro winery.

Beer: Belgium, Germany and Portugal

Each price label carries a country flag, which makes browsing easy. Belgian beers such as Chimay, Piraat, Pater Ename, Gulden Draak, Straffe Hendrik and La Guillotine were €3.21–6.75 a bottle. German beers such as Erdinger, Franziskaner, Benediktiner, Köstritzer and Riegele were €2.14–5.63 a bottle.

A gluten-free six-pack (6 × 33cl) of Super Bock, Portugal's best-known beer, was €4.49. The same shelves held imported beers such as BrewDog, Peroni, Moretti and Guinness.

A separate shelf held only Portuguese craft beer (Letra, Nortada, Sovina, Alma, Trindade and others) at around €1.90–4.02 a bottle, an easy way to try beers you will rarely see outside Portugal.
Buying tips
- The supermarket whisky labels checked up close were for 70cl bottles, while many duty free bottles are 1L. Check the size before comparing prices between the two.
- Beer, especially local craft beer, is ideal for drinking during your stay. For whisky, look out for Japanese and Irish bottles that are hard to find at home.
- Your home country's duty-free allowance limits how much alcohol you can bring back. If you are buying several bottles, check the customs rules first.
