World Cup is a preference game, not a blind quality test. Select the bottle that interests you more in each pairing. A tournament creates one champion, while the accumulated record can reveal recurring distilleries, regions, price bands and styles.
Select a distillery or product category, price band and tournament size. A small field reaches a result quickly; a large field exposes you to more candidates. Price bands organise the game and are not a guarantee of current retail price or availability.
Use remembered aroma and taste for bottles you know. For unfamiliar bottles, choose the region, cask, age or style you would most like to explore. Fame and packaging can influence selection, so treat the result as current interest rather than a permanent identity.
Tournament candidates advance through a bracket. Survival keeps the winner for the next match and records streaks. Appearance count, wins and win rate answer different questions; no single number proves that one whisky is objectively better.
Completed choices can support the taste profile alongside sensory questions and remembered-whisky ratings. One event does not lock the profile. Product images and names aid identification and do not imply brand affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.
