How the Whisky Taste Finder works

Taste Finder turns familiar sensory choices or remembered whisky ratings into a multi-axis flavour profile. It is designed for newcomers and experienced drinkers: you do not need to recognise every brand or use professional tasting vocabulary.

Nine food and aroma questions

Choose the food, aroma, texture or serving style that feels most appealing. Answers add weight to several related axes such as fruit, wine, cereal, oak and peat. One choice does not point directly to one bottle; the combination matters.

Use whiskies you remember

Rate only bottles you remember clearly as liked, neutral or disliked. Product style vectors turn those ratings into evidence. If the list is unfamiliar or memory is uncertain, the sensory questionnaire is a better starting point.

Read the profile and recommendations

The radar shows relative directions inside your result, not universal scores. Recommendations compare that profile with product styles and a selected budget. Higher price does not guarantee a closer match, and real price and stock can change.

Improve the result over time

Treat the first result as provisional. Record nose, palate, finish and willingness to drink again after real tastings, then compare later results. The tool does not encourage drinking and can be used as sensory exploration without alcohol.
